Wrestling (Japanese: レスリング, resuringu) is a sport involving players who attempt to crush and break their opponent until he is too weak to get himself up. It is a popular sport in many countries, including the United States and Japan.
- Wrestling is a very popular sport in the United States, although it is not as popular as baseball, basketball, and football (or "rugby" in other countries: "football" in America is known as "soccer"). Some of the most well-known wrestlers, from John Cena, to Dwayne Johnson, and Randy Keith Orton perform in matches that are being organized by an American company, known as "World Wrestling Entertainment".
- Japan already has other combat sports, other than professional wrestling and sumo wrestling. It has many martial arts traditions, such as aikido, karate, and judo.
- The English word "wrestling" (レスリング) is usually associated in Nico Nico Douga with Gachimuchi, thus it being the unofficial name for Gachimuchi in Japanese-language websites.
